Interview with Francesco Ponti from CMC

Which is the major subject you are currently focusing on?

CMC strongly believes that secondary packaging today is one of the strongest marketing tools for retailers and logistics companies. Our focus is to deliver automated solutions that delivers sustainable, cost effective and highly personalised packaging for the highest customer experience, to improve branding and engage with consumers.

What is your strategy to answer the increasing demand from both the industries and the consumers, in terms of sustainable development / eco-design ?

More than a strategy, CMC sustainability is one of our company founding principles. CMC CartonWrap and the other auto-packers create each box unique to the product being shipped, thus eliminating empty spaces and the need of void fillers. This results in less volumes shipped and subsequently less emissions.

We have also designed the box with an easy opening and reseal option so that it can be used in case of returns to avoid using extra packaging.

Finally, we have sourced and made processable through our machines different kind of eco-friendly materials: recycled paper, eco-wrap made from potato/corn starch or sugar cane and replaced film wrapping with paper wrapping.

Why did you choose to take part in ALL4PACK 2020 ? / Which kind of decision makers do you meet there?

We see ALL4PACK as one of the most attractive packaging events in Europe where people from different industries meet. We are looking forward to meeting retailer’s ad logistics experts to share ideas and visions to improve the supply chain and take our next challenge
