The outlook for production has been optimistic for the last 2 years for packaging buyers, all segments combined. Some 60% of interviewees anticipate a rise in output compared with 53% in 2013 and 2012.
Growth prospects have risen essentially in the retail, trade, logistics and e-commerce sectors!

In the other client sectors, increased confidence was noted compared with the two previous years, excepting Personal and Home Equipment, and Intermediate Goods. When classifying client sectors with strong growth potential, the importance of Hygiene & Beauty (including cosmetics) and Pharmaceuticals & Health are evident; these sectors now rank above the robust food sector, which has moved backwards into 4th position, followed by beverages.
Created in 2005 by the international packaging exhibition EMBALLAGE, the Packaging Observatory provides a snapshot of manufacturers’ appreciation of the principal issues at stake for the French industry.

• Packaging manufacturers (25%)
• Manufacturers and distributers of packaging, handling and logistics machinery and equipment (19%)
