Citeo was created by businesses to reduce the environmental impact of their packaging materials and paper by transforming them into resources. With its subsidiary Adelphe, Citeo provides advice and solutions to its customers — manufacturers, businesses, distributors and consumer services — to help them affordably meet their responsibilities related to end-of-life packaging materials and paper. Today, 70% of packaging materials and 59% of paper are recycled in France thanks to sorting, which has become the No. 1 community action for the environment.
The French Packaging Council (CNE), a non-profit organization founded in 1997, is a moral authority and a forum for dialogue between the various players of the packaging industry: packaging materials manufacturers, packaging manufacturers (converters), producers of consumer goods, approved collection and recovery systems and operators, local authorities as well as consumer and environmental organizations.
The mission of the CNE is to develop and disseminate better practices in designing, using and marketing products packaging. As it is historically active in the development of a packaging waste prevention policy, the CNE more generally wishes to be a spearhead in the development of a responsible policy relative to the eco-design of products packaging.
This results in different actions:
• Developing and disseminating good practices in designing, production, retail and usage of products packaging.
• Formulating positions and advice to the different stakeholders.
• Being proactive in developing a product packaging eco-design policy.
• Developing and promoting prevention and source reduction.
• Facilitate exchanges between the different stakeholders.

Created by the merger of three trade unions*, EVOLIS organization represents the suppliers of capital goods and machinery who actively contribute to the competitiveness and efficiency of French industry through modernization, digitalization and decarbonization of the production tool in the main industrial sectors: Mechanical and agri-food industries, construction and infrastructure, water and energy, chemistry, paper and wood industries, packaging and recycling.
The EVOLIS-Packaging group brings together manufacturers of industrial solutions at all levels of the packaging chain (complete lines or parts of lines) for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. Sensitive to issues of eco-design, fair packaging, traceability, and circular economy, EVOLIS- Packaging in partnership with the CNE brought together all the stakeholders in the packaging life cycle in Bercy on 15 December to identify areas for improvement in terms of design, collection, sorting and recycling. These proposals are supported by the French Ministry of Industry, which intends to mobilize resources around the FranceRelance and France2030 programs.
In order to raise the awareness of all private and public actors on issues related to industry such as the competitiveness of companies, productive investment and the attractiveness of business lines, EVOLIS works closely with client professional organizations, sectoral strategic committees and public authorities. EVOLIS also participates in the work of European associations of which it is a member. With 600 member companies, employing 82,000 persons and generating more than €18 billion in turnover, 65% of which is in the export sector, EVOLIS is representative of the sector to French and European authorities.
