3 questions to INNOVIA

Interview with Steve Langstaff, Global Business Manager Packaging at INNOVIA

Which will be the major news you will be presenting during ALL4PACK Paris 2020?

Innovia Films is a research and development led company and as such, we plan to launch some new BOPP flexible films at the 2020 show.  We are currently working on a totally new range of oxygen high barrier EVOH films, the first of which will be launched in June 2019.  Successive developments will follow and will include new high barrier metallised and AlOx clear high barrier film.

What is your strategy ? Which offer you created in order to answer the increasing demand from both the industries and the consumers, in terms of sustainable development / eco-design?

We are very close to bringing our new assets on stream and have already been working hard to develop new films that will help to extend the shelf life of a range of products, thereby reducing food waste.  What is exciting is that these new films will allow pack simplification, by removing/replacing layers within lamination materials that restrict recycling.  They will also assist in the production of mono layer materials for different applications that will enable them to be more easily recycled and be included in circular economy packaging design processes.

Why did you choose to take part in ALL4PACK Paris 2020 ? / Which kind of industrialists can be met during the show?

France is an important market for Innovia Films and we chose to exhibit at ALL4PACK Paris 2020 as we recognise it will provide us with a very good platform to promote our new products.  The show attracts many of our existing customers and allows us to meet new prospects.  During the 2018 event we held numerous discussions with key manufacturing companies about our packaging range and we anticipate that the next event will also be as successful.
