3 questions to HMI-MBS

Interview with Nicolas Bouhet, Director of HMi-MBS

Which is the major subject you are currently focusing on?

MiR, a manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), which we have been distributing in France for several years, recently opened the world's first robotics hub dedicated to collaborative automation in Barcelona. With the collaboration of Universal Robots, another AMR manufacturer, they have created these headquarters to share their latest technologies and improve their positioning in the Southern European market, which offers significant potential. Previously, they had launched MiR 1000, an AMR capable of transporting and delivering pallets and other heavy loads of up to one tonne in dynamic environments. MiR's AMRs are a safe and accessible alternative to the much more expensive and potentially dangerous forklift trucks.

To make mobile robots more affordable to companies, they have also launched the MiR Finance programme, a mobile robot rental service that we offer our customers.

As confirmed by Olivier Pommares, MiR's Sales Manager France, the company is currently enjoying triple-digit growth.

What is your strategy to answer the increasing demand from both the industries and the consumers, in terms of sustainable development / eco-design ?

MiR's solutions are flexible and can be easily integrated into future industry projects in France. In this industry of the future, manufacturers take advantage of new technological solutions to produce on the consumer’s doorstep, making more personalised products that reduce the tough working conditions of factories or warehouses. Collaborative robots such as those made by MiR that can move around autonomously, provide solutions that optimise intralogistics movements and reduce accidents and MSD risks for operators, which are a major cause of sick leave in France. These benefits offer the advantage of helping companies to reduce labour costs and thus capitalise upon this increased competitiveness to break into new markets or reshore their production in France. New organisations are possible and as the distributor of MiR in France, we are committed to supporting companies in their thinking and advising them in the best possible way.

Why did you choose to take part in ALL4PACK 2020 ? / Which kind of decision makers do you meet there ?

ALL4PACK is a very important event for us and our customer MiR. Of course, it is an exhibition platform where we can showcase their latest models and their different applications, but this event also addresses a social cause. It is an opportunity for us to connect with the needs of the market. Being as close as possible to users and to the problems and difficulties they encounter is an aspect of the show that we feel is crucial in order to continue to provide appropriate solutions to meet their challenges.
